Where is Firebreak Farm?

Firebreak Farm is located in the Neumgna district at the foothills of the Bunya Mountains, QLD. Our land is located on Wakka Wakka country and as the current custodians, we pay our respects to the traditional owners of the land in which we have the privilege of caring for.

What is regenerative farming?

Regenerative farming is an approach that focuses on restoring and improving the health of the land. At Firebreak Farm, we employ practices like rotational grazing, cover cropping, and minimal tillage to enhance biodiversity and soil health.

What kind of produce does Firebreak Farm offer?

Firebreak Farm provides a range of pasture-raised meats, including lamb, pork, and beef. Our lamb and beef is 100% grass-fed and finished, with no use of chemicals, hormones or antibiotics. Our pork is raised entirely on pasture and rotated to new paddocks regularly – due to the fact that pigs are omnivores, they receive a ration to supplement their diets. 

How are animals treated at Firebreak Farm?

Our commitment to ethical animal husbandry is paramount. Livestock at Firebreak Farm are raised in natural environments, engage in natural behaviours, and are treated with care and respect throughout their lives.

Is Firebreak Farm certified organic?

While we do adhere to many of the organic farming methods, we are not currently certified organic. We believe in transparency and are open about our farming practices, we always welcome any questions you may have.

We currently do not have any plans to undergo organic certification, our focus is on regenerative agriculture which ultimately aims to go beyond the organic requirements. 

What sets Firebreak Farm apart from conventional farms?

Firebreak Farm practices regenerative agriculture, emphasising soil health, biodiversity, and ecosystem resilience.

We prioritise ethical animal husbandry and transparency in our farming methods, distinguishing us from conventional farming practices.

How can I purchase produce from Firebreak Farm?

You can order our pasture-raised meats through our website. We offer delivery services to certain areas. Check our online store for availability and delivery zones.

How long will it take for me to receive my order?

We work with a local family-owned butcher who manages our processing and butchering. We have pre-determined processing dates to provide them certainty.

We do our best to ensure that your produce is delivered at the next scheduled date, however, from order to delivery takes approximately 2 weeks. 

Once you place your order, you will receive an email from us with a confirmed delivery date.

How do I pay?

If you are ordering one of our 5, 10 or 15kg packs, you will be able to pay via the website in the checkout utilising a debit/credit card, apple pay or google pay.

If you order a larger pack such as our half or whole beasts, you will be required to pay a deposit on the website with the final bill invoiced to you once the animal is processed. 

Is your meat fresh or frozen?

Our meat is delivered fresh in portion-sized cryovaced packaging. This means it will stay fresher for longer in your fridge and can also be easily frozen by you if needed!

Do you use any growth hormones or mRNA vaccines?

Firebreak Farm is committed to the principles of regenerative and sustainable farming, and as part of this commitment, we do not use growth hormones in our livestock. Our ethical animal husbandry practices prioritise the well-being of our animals, and we believe in allowing them to grow naturally in a healthy and stress-free environment.

Regarding mRNA vaccines, it’s important to clarify that mRNA vaccines are used for human health and not in the context of farming or livestock management at this stage. Therefore, short answer is – no, we don’t use mRNA vaccines – but that’s because no one does!
